Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) has congratulated Serena Huang of Parkway Central for winning this year's Congressional App Challenge in Missouri's 2nd District. Wagner commended Serena's "Anchor App" for its beautiful user interface and robust technical design. The app aims to help teens easily track their finances and develop responsible spending and saving habits, which are crucial skills for young students.

Wagner also extended her congratulations to the 2nd place winners from Parkway South, Rohan Potta, Mazinkhan Nadaf, and Allen Zheng, as well as the 3rd place winners Rachit Patek and Navin Narayanan from Lafayette High School. She expressed gratitude towards The Coder School for hosting the competition and Everett Johnson, the Head Judge, for contributing to its success.

The Congressional App Challenge is a national competition that emphasizes the value of computer science and STEM education. Established in 2015 by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, the challenge allows students from all over the country to create and exhibit their software applications for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. Through this competition, Congress aims to recognize and highlight the importance of programming skills among the nation's youth.

Serena Huang's winning app will not only be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives' website but also showcased as part of a U.S. Capitol exhibit. Additionally, Serena will have the opportunity to participate in the 2024 #HouseofCode event this spring.
