Congresswoman Ann Wagner, joined by Congressman Brad Schneider, Congressman Craig Goldman, and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, announced the relaunch of the House Abraham Accords Caucus. This initiative aims to build on the achievements of the Abraham Accords and encourage deeper partnerships among current member countries while seeking to expand the agreement to nations without diplomatic ties with Israel.
The Abraham Accords were signed on September 15, 2020, establishing peace agreements between Israel, the UAE, and Bahrain. The accords have since been expanded to include Sudan and Morocco. These agreements have played a significant role in transforming regional dynamics by enhancing security, creating economic opportunities, and advancing U.S. national security interests.
Wagner emphasized her commitment to co-chairing this caucus to advance these accords further. "I am once again proud to join my colleagues in co-chairing this important caucus as we work to advance the historic Abraham Accords and promote prosperity and stability in the region," she stated. She credited President Trump's negotiation of the accords as a pivotal step for Middle Eastern stability.
Schneider expressed pride in co-chairing this bipartisan effort aimed at fostering durable peace in the Middle East. He stated: “The initial Abraham Accords were a historic crossroads...Strengthening and building upon them offers a path to durable peace for the entire Middle East.”
Goldman highlighted his honor in co-chairing efforts that strengthen U.S. national security while promoting global peace. He said: "Nearly five years ago, President Donald Trump led the historic and monumental Abraham Accords—uniting nations once divided by conflict."
Wasserman Schultz underscored her focus on promoting normalization efforts between Israel and Arab neighbors through broad bipartisan coalitions within Congress. "Achieving peace in the region will strengthen security and economic opportunities for all," she affirmed.
