ann wagner shares thoughts on kit bond's legacy and introduces new bills

Ann Wagner, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 2nd district, shared her thoughts and updates through a series of tweets on May 13 and 14, 2025. Wagner, who has been serving in Congress since replacing Todd Akin in 2013, took to social media to express her sentiments about Kit Bond and announce new legislative efforts.

On May 13, Wagner reflected on the contributions of Kit Bond, particularly his support for women in politics. She wrote "At a time when it was hard for women to break into politics, Kit was a forward-thinking visionary who worked to promote and advance the careers of many women entering public service. I was so honored to serve as Missouri Republican Party Chairman alongside Kit’s incomparable".

Later that day, she expressed her sorrow over Bond's passing with another tweet stating "Ray and I are so heartbroken to hear of Kit Bond’s passing. He loved Missouri, and we loved him. So lucky to have counted him as a mentor and a friend."

On May 14, Wagner announced new legislative initiatives aimed at supporting families and small businesses. She tweeted "RELEASE: Wagner Introduces Capital Formation Bills to Support Families and Small Businesses Read here https://t.co/luO0v6dzYF".

Wagner was born in St Louis, Missouri in 1962 and currently resides in Ballwin. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
