Ann Wagner, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 2nd district, expressed her admiration and respect for the late Senator Kit Bond through a series of tweets on May 13, 2025. Wagner's messages highlighted Bond's significant influence in Missouri politics and his dedication to public service.

In one tweet, Wagner noted that "Few people in Missouri politics have had more of a positive influence on our state and the nation than Senator Kit Bond." She praised him as a "true statesman seemingly from a bygone era" who devoted his life to public service.

Following this sentiment, Wagner shared personal memories about Bond after he left elected office. She stated that "After leaving elected office, Kit continued to advocate for our state and the policies he fought for throughout his career." She fondly recalled receiving phone calls from Bond and his wife Linda inviting her and her husband Ray to dinner.

In another tweet, Wagner expressed her condolences upon hearing of Bond's passing. She conveyed heartfelt sympathies by saying "Ray and I are heartbroken to hear of his passing and our prayers are with his wife Linda, who took such incredible care of him..." She acknowledged the impact Bond had on her life as a friend and mentor.

Wagner has been representing Missouri's 2nd District since 2013 after succeeding Todd Akin. Born in St Louis in 1962, she resides in Ballwin and holds a BS degree from the University of Missouri.
