Congresswoman Ann Wagner of Missouri and Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas have expressed their support for President Donald J. Trump's approach to preventing Iran from developing nuclear capabilities. The two lawmakers led a letter addressed to the President, highlighting their backing of his firm stance against any agreement that would allow Iran to maintain components of its nuclear program.
In the letter, Wagner and Crenshaw stated: "In light of the recent escalation between Israel and Iran, we support your firm position of rejecting any agreement that allows Iran to retain any component of its nuclear program. We commend your clear and resolute stance that the regime must abandon all uranium enrichment capabilities."
The letter further emphasized support for future efforts aimed at eliminating Iran's nuclear program and taking necessary actions to protect American interests. The members added: "Israel’s ongoing defensive strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites are justified. In February 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that it had 'lost continuity of knowledge' on key parts of Iran’s nuclear program, including centrifuge production, uranium stockpiles, and heavy water operations."
Wagner and Crenshaw voiced concerns about any potential deal allowing Iran to continue enriching uranium, arguing such agreements cannot be trusted or enforced. They underscored the importance of ensuring peace by preventing Iran from achieving weaponizable enrichment levels.
The lawmakers concluded with praise for President Trump's leadership in addressing this national security issue: "Above all, we are in full support of the red line you have set with Iran to prevent them from regaining their power and influence in the region via proxy groups or a nuclear weapon. Thank you for your bold leadership on this evolving national security issue."
