Ann Wagner, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Missouri’s 2nd district since 2013, announced the passage of her small business growth legislation in the House through a series of posts on July 22, 2025.

In her first tweet at 13:55 UTC, Wagner stated, "RELEASE: Wagner Small Business Growth Legislation Passes House

My Small Entity Update Act will reform the SEC’s regulatory approach to make it easier for entrepreneurs across the country to achieve the American dream."

She followed up with another message at nearly the same time: "Congress must recognize that regulations have an outsized impact on smaller businesses that are just trying to grow, and my bill is a commonsense step forward that recognizes that fact.

This is one of seven Capital Markets bills I was proud to usher out of Committee, and across"

Later that day at 19:48 UTC, Wagner highlighted her support for additional legislation aimed at startups and innovation. She posted: "I spoke during our Financial Services Committee markup in support of the Developing and Empowering Our Aspiring Leaders (DEAL) Act, my bill that supports more funding for startups, more opportunities for businesses that are too often overlooked, and more innovation everywhere,"

Wagner has been a member of Congress since replacing Todd Akin in 2013. Born in St. Louis in 1962 and currently residing in Ballwin, she graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS degree in 1984.

Her recent legislative efforts focus on reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses and supporting new enterprises through measures such as the Small Entity Update Act and DEAL Act.
