Ann Wagner, U.S. Congresswoman representing Missouri’s 2nd district, has recently addressed concerns on social media regarding the ongoing government shutdown and developments in the Middle East.
On October 10, 2025, Wagner posted about the impact of the government shutdown on families relying on federal assistance, stating, "This shutdown has real consequences for families who rely on the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program that is now facing catastrophic funding shortfalls. Democrats have got to come to the table and vote so WIC will not have to turn families away. I joined my friend".
Three days later, on October 13, 2025, Wagner commented on the anniversary of a Hamas attack and the release of hostages, writing, "It has been two long years since these hostages were ripped away from their families in the midst of the brutal Hamas terror attack. That’s two years of not knowing when, or if, they would ever see their loved ones again. I am so incredibly grateful to see these innocents going".
In a subsequent post on the same day, Wagner expressed optimism about regional developments and credited former President Trump’s administration, saying, "I’m hopeful today marks a turning point towards a more peaceful, just, and prosperous Middle East. Thank you to President Trump and his Administration for their strength and unparalleled diplomacy that made this miraculous day a reality."
Wagner has represented Missouri’s 2nd District in Congress since 2013, succeeding Todd Akin. She was born in St. Louis in 1962 and currently resides in Ballwin. Wagner graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
