Today is a bittersweet day of congratulations and goodbyes. Today we are saying see you later to Sergeant Bennie Church.
Sgt. Church has been a police officer for 13 years and has been with the Troy Police Department since March of 2014. In that time, he has been an asset by filling multiple roles and wearing many hats.
While being a member of our department he has served as a Patrolman, K9 Handler, Field Training Officer, and most recently a Sergeant of Patrol of the last 3 years. Sgt. Church has been a friend to many and a brother to all.
Sgt. Church has accepted the position of Captain over the Bowling Green Police Department. We could not be happier for him and we are excited to watch he become as much of an asset to them as he has been to us. We are proud of him and support him going as far as he can go.
We are grateful that it isn’t good bye and just a “see you around.”
Today is his last day with us so if you see him around, wish him well.
Thank you Sgt. Church for your service to this department and this community.
